SA Training Awards 2019
NASSSA is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Shaona Imaru – winner of the “Vocational Student of the Year“ Award at the SA Training Awards. The presentation dinner was held at the Adelaide Convention Centre last Friday night and attended by more than 640 people. This prestigious event was hosted by the Training and Skills Commission and are the State’s peak awards for Vocational Education and Training, recognising quality, excellence and innovation in training.
Shaona completed her “Certificate III in Health Services Assistance” qualification through a Vocational Education & Training (VET) course at Paralowie R-12 school over 2 years with Teacher/Trainer Melissa Willson. After graduating as a Year 12 School student in 2018, Shaona chose to pursue a career in nursing and is currently undertaking study towards a Bachelor of Nursing degree.
Shaona will now represent South Australia at the National event (Australian Training Awards) to be held in Brisbane in November. We wish her the very best of luck as the South Australia representative in her category.
NASSSA also recognises the excellent achievement of Para Hills High School student Isaiah Rigney for his traineeship in “Certificate II in Community Services”. NASSSA is proud of Isaiah’s success as a 2019 finalist in the ”Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year Award” category.
