Winner of the Premier’s Award – Healthcare for Future Generations 2024

The 2024 SACE Stage 2 Integrated Learning Nursing & Midwifery Pilot, which NASSSA developed in collaboration with Northern Adelaide Health & Wellbeing Partnership, Parafield Gardens High School, UniSA, and University of Adelaide, has been recognised as winner of the Premier’s Award – Healthcare for Future Generations.

The course was developed as many students showed interest in working in health care, especially in nursing and midwifery. Through simulation activities, students applied classroom theory to practical scenarios, while mentoring sessions fostered connections with Northern Adelaide Health Network, supporting the development of a sustainable, local healthcare workforce.

The successful program is being scaled up across three NASSSA schools in 2025.
